Storage Device

Storage Device
A storage device is any computing hardware that is used for storing, porting and extracting data files and objects. It can hold and store information both temporarily and permanently, and can be internal or external to a computer, server or any similar computing device.
A storage device may also be known as a storage medium
there are two types of storage devices.
1. Primary Storage Devices.
a. ROM
b. RAM
2. Secondary Storage Devices.
a. HDD
b. CD ROM
c. USB Drive.
Unit of storage.
Each alpha numeric character represented in a storage location as a combination of binary digits (0,1) of bits to from a byte.
7/8 bits      - 1 byte (1 character)
1024 bytes  - 1 kilobyte
1024 kb -     1 Mega bytes
1024 MB  -   1Giga Bytes
1024 GB  -  1 Tera bytes
1024 TB -    1 Peta byte
1024 PB -   1Exabyte
1024 EB -   1 Zettabyte

1024 ZB  -  1 Yottabyte
