Microsoft Office Excel 2003 Introduction
With the expansion of computer technology and the widespread use of business software, electronic spreadsheets were born, A spreadsheet, also known ad a worksheet, contains rows and columns and is used to record and compare numerical or financial data. Originally, spreadsheets only existed in paper format, but now they are most likely created and maintained through a software program that displays the numerical information in rows and columns. Spreadsheets can be used in any area or field that works with numbers and are commonly found in the accounting, budgeting, sales forecasting, financial analysis, and scientific fields. The popular electronic spreadsheet software are LTUS 1-2-3, Quattropro and Microsoft Excel.

The current versions are 2010 for Windows and 2011 for  Mac. It was developed by Microsoft Corporation for computers using the Microsoft Windows operating system. It is a part of the suite of Office package.

  • It allows you to perform calculations on data quickly and accurately.
  • The built-in functions in Microsoft Excel make calculations easy and fast. 
  • It lets you instantly convert a set of data into a graph or a chart. 
  • It recalculates the result of a mathematical formula automatically if you make a change in a value or number in a cell. 
  • It enables you to analyze data by changing the data in different ways and seeing the impact of these changes in different situations.

To start Microsoft Excel 2003, do the following:

  • Open the Start menu by clicking the Start button.
  • On the Start menu, click programs.
  • On the next menu, point on Microsoft Office and then click on Microsoft Office Excel 2003.
